Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics

The department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Thai Moogambigai Dental College and Hospital caters to a very large population of Chennai and adjoining suburban areas. The department provides routine and specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical care. The department also performs a very large volume of dentoalveolar surgery, management of maxillofacial trauma with in-patient care at ACS Medical College and hospital. The Oral and Maxillofacial department in liaison with the department of orthodontics performs surgery for dentofacial deformity and a very large volume of dental implantology with the department of prosthodontics.

Our faculties are highly trained with some holding International degrees from reputed institutions and still thrive for excellence by pursuing PhD.

Educational activities of the department include didactic teaching of graduate (BDS-100) students and post graduate (MDS-15) students. Journal discussions, seminars, lectures and dental chair side teaching. 15 ongoing research projects with the current post graduate students.

Post graduates are sent for special training in the fields of cleft lip and palate surgery, surgical management of oral oncology to premier centers in India. They are also sent to ACS Medical college for training with ENT, Plastic surgery, Anaesthesiology, General Medicine and General Surgery.

Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics The department conducts numerous CDE programs with some in special interest of the exam going post graduate students.

The department is well equipped with high grade medical and dental equipments like NIBP monitor, Piezoelectric surgical unit, Physiodispensor, electrocautery, etc.
